Jamshedpur, July 23: Despite an investigation revealing irregularities in the certification of assistant teachers (para teachers) in the Kolhan division, including East Singhbhum, many continue to work with fake credentials. The School Education and Literacy Department has recently urged the District Education Superintendent to take action, highlighting that 429 teachers statewide were found with fake certificates or unauthorized absences during verification.
While 250 teachers have been relieved, 179 remain in their positions. Specifically, in the Kolhan division, eight para teachers (seven from West Singhbhum and one from East Singhbhum) continue to work despite their certificates being found invalid. Last year, a verification process led to the dismissal of 13 para teachers in East Singhbhum, effective August 1, but some have yet to be formally relieved. The fraudulent certificates, often from universities deemed fake by the UGC, include B.Ed and D.El.Ed qualifications.
The Jharkhand Education Project has been instructed to submit a report on the removal process, ensuring swift action against those with fake certificates or unauthorized absences.
