Elocution, drawing contests themed on Environment in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 28: Tata Steel organised drawing and elocution contest for school students at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Saturday. The theme was World Environment Day- “Only One Earth”.

The programme attended by around 800 students was aimed to sensitise students on the relevance of observing the World Environment Day, which will be observed on June 5. However, Tata Group observes the entire month of June as Sustainability Month.

Every year Tata Steel observes the World Environment Day and Sustainability Month by engaging all stakeholders through conducting several awareness programmes across its operating locations.

This year, several events are also being organised to mark this occasion. Environment Management and Sports Department of Tata Steel pulled together by organising today’s drawing and elocution competition for the students in different categories.

Entries of drawing competition were judged by Rajesh Kumar Bajpayee, faculty from Jamshedpur School of Arts and Priti Jha from Corporate Communications department of Tata Steel. Dr. Hishmi Jamil Husain from Corporate Sustainability department of Tata Steel was judge for the elocution competition. Top three winners from each category of both the competitions will be rewarded on June 5 at Beldih Club, Jamshedpur.

Dr. Amit Ranjan Chakraborty, Chief Environment Tata Steel, Ashish Kumar, Head Sports Tata Steel, Anoop Srivastava, Head Environment Tata Steel among others were present.

The theme for World Environment Day 2022 is “Only One Earth” with the focus on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”.
