East Bengal Colony School converted to Happy School

Jamshedpur, Oct 5: East Bengal Colony Middle school, located in the Refugee Colony, Sakchi, established in the year 1952, has been converted to Happy School, courtesy Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West.

As part of the “Happy School” Project the class-rooms and the toilets have been revamped and basic equipment have been provided to the students and teachers of the school.

The club has constructed clean and separate toilets for boys, girls and the teaching staff.

The boundary wall of the school has been repaired and raised.

A renovated handwash station and safe drinking water station has been built along with repairing and painting of the school building and the classrooms.

The club has also provided almirah and books for the library.

A club member informed that a corporate has agreed to add two more rooms on the first floor along with a proper stair case for convenient and safe access of children to these rooms. This project will also happen in this Rotary year 2021-22.

Today, in a small function first lady of the district 3250 Rotarian Suchanda Banerjee inaugurated Smart Class facility for the children at East Bengal Colony Middle school and District Governor Pratim Banerjee inaugurated computer facility at the school.

 The smart class facility will be able to deliver course material developed by RILM which would benefit the school children.

President of the club Rajesh Kumar, Rotarian Naina, Club secretary Neeta Agarwal, Kamlendu Shukla, Alpana Shukla, Ajay Gandhi, Ashok Jha, Banushree Nidhi, Principal and teachers of East Bengal Colony Middle School along staff from Jupiter Institute were present on the occasion.
