Jamshedpur: The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) has intensified its probe into fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims through fake invoices. Acting under the guidance of Joint Director Sarthak Saxena, the investigation has revealed that multiple traders benefited from fake shell companies created by Jugsalai-based businessmen Rajesh Jaisuka, Vikas Jaisuka and Golu in the name of iron and mines businesses.
During recent raids at eight locations linked to the Jaisuka brothers, the DGGI team recovered a large number of fake receipts, challan books, three computers, four laptops and six mobile phones. All seized items have been sent for forensic examination, based on which further action is being taken. Officials have identified over half a dozen traders whose forms and accounts were misused in fraudulent transactions. These traders have been served notices and directed to appear before DGGI to record their statements.
“DGGI is committed to exposing tax fraud. If the summoned businessmen fail to appear and cooperate, it will be considered an admission of involvement and we will take direct action, including raids on their establishments,” an official warned.
Meanwhile, Jugsalai traders Rajesh Jaisuka, Vikas Jaisuka, Golu and Lokesh Sharma Lucky, owner of Mateshwari Engineering in Adityapur, collectively deposited ₹5 crore at the DGGI office following the raids.
Additionally, in Dhanbad, the DGGI has intensified its search for businessmen Saurav Singhal and Shivam Singh, who are accused of being involved in a ₹150 crore GST fraud. They, along with Mithilesh Singh, went absconding after raids at their locations. “Notices have been sent to them, but they have failed to appear. We have begun efforts to arrest them and are conducting further raids,” a DGGI official stated.
