Jharkhand Police Team Heads to Rajasthan to Bring Him Back on Transit Remand
Jamshedpur, July 5: BJP leader and DD Bar owner Niraj Singh has been arrested in Rajasthan in connection with the deadly attack outside his bar in Bistupur that claimed one life and left another person seriously injured.
According to police sources, Singh was arrested near the Khatu Shyam Temple after the Jharkhand Police tracked his location through surveillance and mobile phone records. After identifying his whereabouts, the Jharkhand Police alerted the Rajasthan Police, who detained him. A police team from Jharkhand has now left for Rajasthan to secure his transit remand and bring him back to Jamshedpur for further investigation.
Police said Niraj Singh had been absconding since the incident and was being actively searched. His manager has also been arrested in connection with the case.

The case relates to a violent attack that took place outside DD Bar in Bistupur, where Himanshu Singh and Pratyush Anand were allegedly assaulted with a sharp-edged cleaver (chappar). Himanshu Singh succumbed to his injuries, while Pratyush Anand sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital for treatment.
The incident, which reportedly occurred even in the presence of police personnel, triggered widespread public outrage and became a major political issue in Jamshedpur.
An FIR was registered against 11 accused, including Niraj Singh and his manager. Police had launched an extensive search operation following the incident and have now succeeded in arresting the main accused. Officials said further investigation is in progress, and more developments are expected after Singh is brought back to Jamshedpur.
