Jamshedpur, March 4: Rotary District 3250 Governor Sanjeev Thakur along with First Lady Poonam Thakur visited Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West as part of official visits of the Club, on Friday.
The official club visit is one of the most important events in the club’s calendar as the District Governor takes first-hand note of the club’s proceedings and visits important project sites run by the club.
District Governor visited Murgaguttu School and held discussion with Club President Nibha Mishra, Secretary Gurpreet Bhatia and other office bearers of Rotary West.
Later, a public function of the Club was held at a city hotel where many Rotarians and Rotary Spouses from other clubs and also PDGs joined in.
Nibha Mishra appraised the DG about the progress during the year.
Thereafter, new member Amit Dey was inducted in the club. His spouse Shampa Dey joined as Rotary Spouse. On the occasion donors of the current year were honoured. ‘Parichay”, a compilation of history of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West and Club Bulletin – Special Edition were released.
In his address DG Sanjeev Thakur appreciated all the good work being done by RCJW and encouraged the Club to achieve greater heights in future. He was especially appreciative of the work being done in the field of education, environment and community services where the Club excelled as usual. “The target of planting 12 lakh trees and attempt to save one of the islands in Sundarbans is a phenomenal task and emphasis on education for the underprivileged is very heart-warming,” noted DG.
Prominent Rotarians who joined from other clubs were AG Satnam Kapila, PDG Dr R Bharat, PFG Vijay Mehta, Dr Vijaya Bharat, Kiran Mehta, Manish Jain, Vandana Jain, Deepak Dokania, Deepali Dokania and Nikita Mehta.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Secretary Gurpreet Bhatia. Sergeant-of-Arms report was read by Rishi Chandrani.
