Demand for generic paper examination at Kolhan University

Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Feb 10:  The state committee of All India Democratic Students’ Organization (AIDSO) has demanded the conduct of generic paper examinations at Kolhan University. The organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Chancellor through email. State Secretary of the organization, Sohan Mahato, stated that since 2017, the semester system had been implemented at Kolhan University, after which only one paper instead of two subsidiary papers had been taught and examined. It was mentioned that due to the examination of only one paper, many competitive exams were being missed out by students. “For instance, this time the examination for lab technicians in Jharkhand was held, but students couldn’t participate. This has caused a lot of distress among students. While generic paper examinations have been conducted in other universities of the state, despite demands from students at Kolhan University, the examination has not been conducted. Therefore, considering the future of students, special examinations for the second generic paper should be conducted from the session 2017, similar to other universities in Jharkhand. Otherwise, the organization will resort to intense agitation,” stated Sohan Mahto. Many students were present during the submission of the demands.
