Jamshedpur, Feb 10: An awareness programme was organised by IBPS (Indian Bird Photography Society) at Srinath College of Education. In this awareness programme founder of IBPS and a prominent Indian naturalist and avid bird photographer A.K Sahay made students aware about the different types of birds, their habitats and the survival threats they were facing. He also explained the pivotal role of birds in maintaining ecological balance and contributing to the augmentation of vegetation cover, dispersing seeds and saplings of trees, as well as in controlling the population of insects. The program was supported by Dr Raju Kumar and his team members Abhishek Bharati and Kishore Kumar.
A quiz competition was organised by the team and the winners were given certificates and prizes.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Srinath University Dr. S.N. Singh, Principal of Srinath College of Education Rachna Rashmi, faculty members and students of B. Ed and D. El.Ed were present.
The programme was anchored and coordinated by Asst. Prof. and Eco Club coordinator Rekha Kumari Gope.
Vote of thanks was offered by Assistant Professor Jayshree Singh.
