Saraikela, March 18: In a motorcycle accident that occurred on Wednesday at 7 pm near Babudih village under Saraikela police station, Chautanpur residents Jagatram Melgandi (40) and his wife Malati Melgandi (35 years) were seriously injured as the bike they were riding on hit a drum barricade on the Saraikela-Kandra main road. Locals summoned a road ambulance and rushed the injured couple to Saraikela Sadar Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
According to information, Jagatram and his wife had gone to Saraikela and were returning to their village. Due to poor visibility, the drum barricade placed on the roadside could not be seen and Jagatram Melgandi who was riding the bike with his wife Malati Melgandi rammed into the drums leading to their fall resulting in serious injuries to the couple.
