Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Former state minister and AJSU Party general secretary Ramchandra Sahis Thursday criticized the state government for allegedly depriving the Other Backward Caste (OBC) in the run-up to municipal elections in the state.
Sahis was speaking during an agitation called before the Jamshedpur Collectorate to demand stay on the municipal elections and reservation quota for the OBC.
The AJSU leaders handed over a memorandum addressed to Jharkhand Governor to the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum. He said preparations for the municipal polls were in the final stage and posts earlier reserved for OBC were being abolished. He said the OBC community was upset over the recent developments.
Other AJSU leaders Ravi Shankar Maurya and Kanhaiya Singh also spoke against the government for not giving the OBC community their rightful.
