Jamshedpur, Nov 17: Bodam police arrested eight persons on charges of gambling near Dimna Dam on Thursday. They seized cash worth Rs 12,600, four bikes, two cars and cards from the scene.
Those arrested were identified as Lakhan Lal, Hemraj Sahu, Amit Prasad, Dhanjee Jaisawal, Ramkrishna Seth, Gunu Rocky, Ravi Mandal and Moharram Ali, police said.
Dhananjay Baitha, officer-in-charge, Bodam police station, said the accused persons were arrested during a surprise inspection of the Dimna Lake area. Local residents had complained against several outsiders coming to the area and engaging in unethical activities like drinking, gambling and causing inconvenience to others, he said.
