Jamshedpur: Like all other life forms, birds too feel thirsty, especially during the scorching summer and this factor has been taken in to consideration by Surabhi, the women’s wing of Marwari Yuva Manch, Steel City branch. Launching the campaign, the Surabhi members led by President Usha Chaudhary, they distributed clay pots among citizens, urging them to keep water in these utensils on the rooftops, balconies and other places that would be accessible to the birds. Usha said, “While keeping the water pots at accessible places for birds, people should also ensure that the water sources (pots) were kept in such places that would be safe for them. Our members have kept water pots on their balconies and rooftops where shade is available.”
Surabhi branch Secretary Nidhi Agarwal stated, “People may use clay or other utensils for water to these birds. However, people should ensure that the water vessels are not deep but wide so that birds would find it convenient to drink water from these utensils.”
Other Surabhi members who participated in the drive to provide clay pots to people for quenching thirst of birds included, besides, Usha Chaudhary and Nidhi Agarwal included Treasurer Neelam Debuka, Nitu Sweta, Mamata, Jyoti, Pooja and others.
