Chandil, Sept 2: Prior to the lockdown period many basses used to ferry passengers to and from Chawda and Tatanagar. But since lockdown till date, bus services have remainde suspended. Trucks too were not plying as a result of which farmers could not srell their produce at Jamshedpur and Ranchi markets. Cottage industries in the localities that had hitherto ensured earnings for women making nighties, tapes, undergarments and other readymade dresses and were self sufficient have been facing the economic brunt as their products are not finding access to the markets of Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha. People have been finding it extremely difficult to move to town on urgent business or for medical treatment because of suspension of bus services. The rural people have been the worst hit due to lack of transport facilities.
