Chaitanya Besra and Vikas Mahto emerge champions at Excel India Model School Sports Day

Jamshedpur: The Annual Sports Day of Excel India Model School, located at Birsanagar, concluded at Lalu Ground, Hurlung, with enthusiastic participation from students and parents. The programme was inaugurated by chief guests Vikas Singh, Principal of Vikas Vidyalaya, Mango, and Dr. Devesh Bahadur, a noted radiologist of the city.
The event began with an impressive march past and drill performances by students from the junior and senior sections. Declaring the sports meet open, Dr. Devesh Bahadur encouraged students to actively participate in sports for overall development. Addressing the gathering, Vikas Singh said that Sports Day plays an important role in promoting physical fitness, discipline and mental well-being alongside academic learning.
Students enthusiastically took part in a wide range of events. Junior section children competed in frog race, shoe and socks race, ready-for-school race and biscuit race. Senior students participated in marble and spoon race, needle and thread race, sack race, long jump, shot put and running events. Parents also joined various games, adding excitement and cheer to the occasion.

In the senior category, Chaitanya Besra was declared the overall champion, while Vikas Mahto won the title in the junior group. Among parents, Anjali Gop, Manju Ruhi Das and Renuka Murmu won the In-Out game, while Nanibala Soren, Saraswati Besra and Rekha Lohar emerged winners in musical chairs.
Several dignitaries, including retired educationist V.N. Singh, BJP District General Secretary Sanjeev Singh, Kewar Prasad Rao, Santosh Singh and Ashutosh Singh, were present. School Principal Mamta Kumari thanked guests, parents, teachers and students for making the event a success.
