Celebrate Eid with peace and harmony: DC Chhavi Ranjan

Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration on Tuesday made a public appeal for peaceful Eid celebration. Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan convened a meeting with members of various peace committees of the district and asked them to ensure peace during the festival.

The DC sought updates from the police and civil administration officials regarding security arrangements for Eid and directed them to remain alert. He said security should be tightened around mosques and other venues of prayer. The DC said all religious places should be kept under tight vigil and there should be no dispute regarding any route. In case any problem arises, senior officials should be immediately informed, he said.

Also present at the meeting, SP Chandan Kumar SInha said the block and police station level peace committees should coordinate with the local police stations to ensure peace during Eid. Rumours of any kind should not be taken seriously, he said, adding that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading rumours on Whatsapp, Facebook and other social media platforms.
The meeting was also attended by ADC Kunj Bihari Pandey and other officials of district administration.
