CBWE holds workers empowerment camp

Jamshedpur: The CBWE of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India & Zila Parshad, Jamshedpur Madhya have jointly organized a 4-Day Empowerment Camp for weaker sections at Shankarpur under Jamshedpur block from January 4 to January 7.

On concluding day programme held today the Central Board of Workers Education has launched DBT (direct benefits transfer) to the beneficiaries.

The inaugural programme was graced by Bidyut Baran Mahato, Member of Parliament of Jamshedpur. On today� programme Sanjay Prakash, regional manager, SBI, Jamshedpur was the chief guest while Raj Kumar Singh of Zila Parishad Jamshedpur Madhya was the guest of honor.

The Chief Guest Sanjay Prakash , regional manager, State Bank of India, Jamshedpur said that DBT method of financial distribution was going to become a permanent feature of all government departments in future. For this purpose the SBI has instructed all its branches for opening of savings accounts under Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana.

�I am very happy to become a part of this movement of DBT payment scheme of CBWE, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India.

The CBWE is doing excellent work in the areas of entrepreneurship development counseling, SHG formation,motivation for PMJDY and encouragement for elimination of social evils.

SBI can also help these participants from weaker sections through CSR and other welfare measures. They can approach branches of SBI for account opening also,� the regional manager said.

Pashuapti Nath Sah, Education Officer, CBWE and Programme Coordinator said that 18 participants of weaker section had opened savings account in nearest PSUs & Gramin Bank during the programme.

They have also submitted applications for training under Skill Development Initiative Schemes of Government of India. Very soon they will be invited by Vocational Trade Partners situated near Jamshedpur,� he said.
