Jamshedpur: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) is all set to initiate treatment of patents through the 100 Watt Holmium Laser machine, the most preferred Laser world-wide.
The machine has been installed in the Department of Urology at TMH. This unique facility, a first for the state of Jharkhand, will bring about a paradigm shift in alleviating kidney and urinary problems.
Patients suffering from urinary problems due to Prostate, Kidney stones, Bladder tumor and Cancer of the urinary tract and urethral stricture on Foley�s Catheter can undergo laser surgery, which hitherto was possible only in metropolitan or tierI cities.
This new facility shall also be beneficial to the Heart patients and patients suffering from Stroke (CVA). Further, patients on whom blood thinner medicines cannot be stopped for the surgery can now easily undergo surgery without stopping the medicines.
What new in Holmium Laser technology is that it is minimum invasive, no cut needed in the body, no scar left, shorter hospital stay, no blood needed for surgery, and is cost=effective.
The Laser treatment will cause enucleating of the prostate gland, treat all kind of stones, bladder tumor and urethral stricture. This technology is the most versatile Laser system for all urological applications (kidney, bladder, and prostate and urethral stricture surgeries).
Patients with heart problem can also easily undergo prostate surgery.
