Jamshedpur: Candidates in fray for Assembly election polling from all the six assembly seats under the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency, turned the focus of their campaign to door-to-door canvassing.
Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments Baharagora Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West.
Apart from with the high profile visits scheduled latter and rallies of the leaders of major political parties, candidates are working hard to cover the entire constituency with padh yatra. They have turned their attention to micro-level problems and demands during the street-by-street campaign.
Banna Gupta, Congress candidate from Jamshedpur West, is visiting places like Dhatkidih, Bistupur and interacting with the voters. He assured them that if he voted he will focus on construction roads, bridges and ensure proper drinking water and power in his assembly area.
BJP candidate Saryu Roy has been promising steps to relieve the traffic congestion in Mango and construction of roads across.
Congress candidate Banna Gupta also been focusing on ward-wise door-to-door campaign in recent days. His focus is Mango, Kadma and Bistupur. We have promised better civic services for the residents of non-company area. Better traffic and basic infrastructure is all I promise, says Gupta.
Political parties and the candidates are equally focusing on public meetings and roadside campaigns through vehicles.
JMM candidate Upendra Singh is also focusing on door to door campaign. He is interacting with the voters of Kadma, Dhatkidih, Mango and Ranikudar.
Completely aware of the demography of the Ghatsila sub division and problems confronting the people residing in the far flung villages within the vicinity of the sub division, candidates from Ghatshila claimed that if given a chance they would transform the poor and backward area of the district into a developed zone.
Lack of development and rising extremist influence were the two issues prominently cropped up at Ghatsila sub division.
Meanwhile, those who have sound understanding of the polling pattern of the Assembly areas have informed that the basic sense behind the rural hinterland is to associate with the locals particularly, Mahato and Majhi.
The vote share of the BJP in the urban periphery will more or less remain the same but, in the rural zone that encompasses four assembly segments of the parliamentary constituency could possibly throw a disturbing picture if Mahato and Majhi are not taken care of, particularly, said party leader.
