Jamshedpur, Dec 17: Day II of the three day Loyola School Platinum Jubilee celebrations had the same fizz of boisterous merry making, perhaps a bit more effervescent, as the alumnus in various stages of youth plunged into the waves of nostalgia on a time machine that made time and tide wait. A bus ride through the city to compare then and now, sports, music and many other events did not allow the Loyola spirit to sag.

One of the events was an interactive session during which, popular writer, novelist and BJP Spokesperson, Tuhin Sinha while turning back to his yesterdays at Loyola, shared his experiences and opinions on pursuing a career away from the beaten track. He discussed about unconventional and offbeat careers.  “Discipline is necessary in life, but to travel on a new or less traveled path, you have to break the rules. You cannot do anything different by walking on the much treaded path. Whoever has attained success has done so by breaking the traditional rules,” observed the multifaceted Tuhin.

Expanding his views, Tuhin Sinha stated, ‘My journey is marked by fresh innovations. I had never thought of becoming a writer. Like any other kid, I completed Standard 12 from Loyola and graduated from Delhi University. While there, after studying communication and marketing from an institute, I got a job in a TV channel. Later I came to Mumbai and joined the entertainment industry. My first book, ‘That Things Called Love,’ was published in 2006. This was followed by the cricket thriller, ‘22 Yards’ in 2008 with match fixing in th background.”

Tuhin has been a successful author probing various bends and they include ‘Love and Politics’ (2010), ‘Daddy’ (2015) and ‘Mission Shenjahan’ during the COVID period.

His two latest literary creations, ‘Legend of Birsa Munda’ and  ‘The Great Tribal Warriors of India.  A third book on ‘Siddho Kanho’ is on th pipeline.  “The purpose behind writing these books is to bring these unspoken heroes to the fore,” Tuhin said.

It may be mentioned that on Monday, December 19, Tuhin will garland the statue of Birsa Munda in Birsa Nagar. “I plan to set up a library in Birsa Munda’s village to preserve his memories. I am also trying to provide basic needs to the villagers.”

The joy of meeting old buddies, recollecting the past pranks and other memories punched with the heady programmes of the day before fired the flames of the nonagenarian Loyoleans through the decades on the second day of the three day Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Saturday. The Loyola kids ‘from then to now’ glided through the city and remembered and recollected their times at Jamshedpur and the ‘now’ era of cityscape. A bus ride through the city that commenced at 9 am aroused reflections of many miles of yesterday. While one set of big boys boarded the tour bus, the others reinvented their sporting skills in events like handball and football. These events were held between 9 am and 11 am.

The evening was laden with Music and Masti at the Fasy Auditorium where the usual joyous gaiety and holler by the ‘naughty, young Loyoleans’ relieved their old times. Far from being tired, the Loyoleans are rearing to go on to the third day’s Platinum Jubilee session on Sunday, December 18 and make a splash with their brand of unbridled fun and joy. Yes, They will re-orchestrate the echoes of today for unending tomorrows for that encapsulates the Loyola spirit that has continued to grow younger with every passing year, every new generation whose alma mater has been and  will continue to be  LOYOLA HIGH SCHOOL.
