Jamshedpur, Aug 20: All non-company areas of the city plunged into darkness due to disruption of power supply following rainstorm. In Mango, 20 poles of 11 KV and three transformers fell down due to strong winds. High-tension wires snapped at several places and insulators were also punctured, sources said.
Electricity department GM Shravan Kumar said a loss of Rs 2 crore was incurred on the department due to heavy rain and storm. He assured that the power supplies will be restored as soon as possible.
