BJP delegation meets Governor, opposes Gandeya assembly constituency by-election

Ranchi: A delegation from the Jharkhand BJP, led by State BJP President Babulal Marandi, visited Raj Bhavan on Tuesday and held discussions with the Governor. The meeting focused on the letter recently sent regarding the constitutional crisis that could arise in the event of a by-election for the Gandeya Assembly constituency.

The leaders conveyed that holding a by-election for the Gandeya assembly constituency is not feasible. After the meeting, Mr. Marandi addressed the media, stating that an MLA from the ruling party, who represented the Gandeya assembly constituency, was allegedly pressured by Chief Minister Hemant Soren to resign. He emphasized that Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former MLA, is in good health and not leaving the country. Hence, his resignation appears unjustified, and Marandi asserted that the Chief Minister’s motive may be to appoint his wife, Kalpana Soren, as Chief Minister before his jail visit, drawing a parallel with the political dynamics involving Lalu Prasad.
