Ranchi: Referring to Aara and Keram as modern villages, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that 1000 model villages will be developed as ODF and addiction free villages. Panchayats under which modern villages will fall would be given an aid of Rs. 20,000 every month for motivation, he said.
The CM made the announcement while visiting Tundahuli panchayat at Ormanjhi. He discussed various problems and aspects of rural development with the villagers and announced Rs. 1 lakh each for the model villages Aara and Keram for making them addiction free. He said there should not be a single BPL card holder in model villages. 15-20 BPL families in the village duo will be connected with Johar scheme, he said.
The CM said that after becoming addiction free, the people have changed their views and ODF has decreased chances of epidemic breakout of various diseases. �The government will give the fund for development straight to these villages. He said that educating, skilling and job creating are main agenda of the people. The government wants people to be self dependent and aware of their rights as well as duties. Big targets can be achieved through small works,� he said.
The CM stressed on providing sports facilities for youths in villages from the promotional funds provided.
The villagers shared their views in the meeting. They praised the government for running various schemes and said that regular meeting is held in the village and decisions are taken unanimously. The villagers sold the utensils used for making liquor. ODF has decreased diseases. Biological farming is being promoted in the village, they said.
MP Ram Tahal Choudhary, MLA Ram Kumar Pahan and Rural Development Secretary Avinash were present at the meeting.
