Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has asked Jusco and Tata Steel to ensure adequate and regular cleaning of their respective command areas so that the city could be included in the top ten cities of the country under the Swachh Sarvekshan 2018.
The special officer of JNAC Sanjay Kumar has sent a letter to the companies in this regard. He inspected company lease areas following complaints from citizens. “I have apprised the company officials about our concern regarding lack of cleanliness in certain areas. The companies have been asked to ensure cleaning in OC Road, Marine Drive, Shastri Nagar Block 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Ramjanam Nagar, Anil Sur Path, Pratima Nagar, Roopnagar, Nirmal Nagar, Swarn Vihar and Ashiana Garden areas. The drains on these areas should also be cleaned regularly by the company administration,” he said.
Kumar said numerous complaints regarding lack of cleanliness are being received by the JNAC through Jan Samvad and various complaint portals. He said the JNAC needs corporate help to dispose such complaints. He said the district administration, municipal bodies and corporate houses had joined hands to make Jamshedpur a leading city in the Swachhata Sarvekshan. He said a common strategy was being chalked out by Jusco and JNAC officials in this regard.
