Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage is currently living in hotels after a massive sinkhole damaged the property line of his Malibu home.
Cage revealed his temporary housing situation during a recent appearance at Los Angeles Comic Con.
Unexpected Displacement
The Oscar-winning actor described himself as “a little bit homeless” while addressing the festival crowd.
He confirmed that structural issues forced him to relocate to temporary hotel accommodations across the city.
Impact on Family Plans
The displacement altered Cage’s Halloween routine with his four-year-old daughter, August, whom he shares with wife Riko Shibata.
Cage noted he missed hosting neighborhood trick-or-treaters at his residence this year.
Instead, the actor took his daughter trick-or-treating around Santa Monica before returning to their hotel.
Cage also has two adult sons, Kal-El, 21, and Weston, 35, from previous relationships.
Storm Damage Details
A massive sinkhole collapsed part of Cage’s driveway and the adjacent roadway one month ago.
Photos from the scene showed heavy debris and fractured asphalt inside the unstable ground.
Severe coastal flooding from Hurricane Marie triggered the soil erosion along Southern California.
The tropical storm produced unusually high tides, pushing powerful waves into coastal communities and damaging infrastructure.
