Youth injured in shooting in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 23: On Sunday morning, 19-year-old Karan Singh from Baldev Basti, Jugsalai, was critically injured after criminals shot him in the head. The incident occurred while Karan was filling water outside his residence. According to reports, two youths from Chhaya Nagar arrived on a motorcycle, claiming they needed to visit a house in Baldev Basti. Upon reaching the house, a confrontation ensued between the youths over an old dispute. During the altercation, one of the youths brandished a weapon and fired at Karan, injuring him severely.

Following the shooting, the assailants rushed Karan to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in Jamshedpur for treatment and then fled the scene. Upon learning of the incident, Karan’s mother and local residents rushed to the hospital. They were informed that a dispute had escalated into violence resulting in the shooting.

Authorities from Jugsalai police station promptly responded to the incident, initiating an investigation into the matter. Subsequently, two youths have been detained for questioning regarding their involvement in the shooting. Family and neighbors disclosed that Karan is employed at P&M Mall and resides with his mother in Jugsalai Baldev Basti.

Karan Singh’s condition remains critical as he receives treatment at TMH’s ICU, with authorities continuing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and ascertain the motive behind the shooting.
