Youth Congress for facilities to the poor

Jamshedpur: Members of Jharkhand State Youth Congress Committee led by general secretary Nalini Sinha today handed a memorandum to the block development officer of Jamshedpur demanding various government benefits and facilities for the people living in different localities in the block.

In all, eight demands were raised before the BDO. The party activists said the names of people who were left out in the survey of people belonging to the Below Poverty Line category should be included in the list. The list was incomplete in many areas including Bagbera, Kitadih, Harharguttu, Somai Jhopri, Gandhinagar, Bajrang Tekri, Anandnagar, Gwalapatti, Sarjamda, Govindpur and Parsudih, the activists said.

Many other demands were raised by the party leaders. The leaders said no survey was conducted after the year 2009. New ration cards and Indira Awas units should be made available to the poor residents of these areas, they said.

Other members of the delegation that met the BDO included Sanjay Singh Azad, Prabhavati Devi, Jyoti Mishra, Suraj Prasad and Bharat Singh.
