Jamshedpur: A delegation of members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit, met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr Amitabh Kaushal on Friday to demand measures by the district administration to improve city traffic and make it safer.
A nine-point memorandum was handed over to the DC in this connection by the party leaders.
The delegation demanded fixing of speed limit for heavy vehicles entering and plying through the city and closing down all illegally running parking areas across the city.
Other demands include strict implementation of the no entry regime for heavy vehicles, making parking lights mandatory for heavy vehicles, covering trailers of heavy vehicles, taking stringent action against drivers found in inebriated condition, repairing city roads and ensuring strict compliance of all traffic rules.
