Young Women from Jharkhand Are Excelling in Advanced Technology: PM Praises Jamshedpur’s Tanisha Goutam

Jamshedpur girl interacts with PM Modi at semiconductor chip launch event

Sanand/Jamshedpur, July 4: In a proud moment for Jharkhand, Tanisha Goutam, a young engineer from Bagbera locality of Jamshedpur, interacted directly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the launch of India’s first commercially manufactured “Made in India” semiconductor chip at the CG Semicon OSAT plant in Sanand, Gujarat, on Saturday.

The event marked a historic milestone for India’s semiconductor mission as the first commercial batch of indigenous semiconductor chips was flagged off for the international market.
Selected to represent young engineers, Tanisha shared her inspiring journey with the Prime Minister—from growing up in a modest family in Jamshedpur and pursuing Electrical and Electronics Engineering to becoming part of one of India’s most ambitious semiconductor projects.

She spoke about her academic background, determination, and role at the Sanand semiconductor facility.

Prime Minister Modi appreciated her confidence, technical expertise and achievements.
Addressing the gathering later, he said his interaction with engineers and technicians at the plant reflected the spirit of a “Mini India”, with talented youngsters from across the country contributing to cutting-edge technology.
Making a special mention of young women from Jharkhand, the Prime Minister said they had particularly impressed him with their confidence, learning ability and technical skills.

He noted that many of them came from ordinary families and, after completing ITI or diploma courses, were now playing significant roles in one of the country’s most advanced technology sectors.

Congratulating the young women and their families, Modi said India’s youth were rapidly mastering emerging technologies and strengthening the nation’s technological future.

Tanisha’s interaction with the Prime Minister has become a matter of pride not only for her family but also for Jamshedpur and Jharkhand, highlighting how talent and perseverance from smaller cities are helping shape India’s high-tech future.
