Jamshedpur, July 4: To facilitate the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu has announced the formation of the Kamal Sahayog Samiti, which will establish 51 dedicated assistance camps across the constituency to help voters complete the enumeration process smoothly.
The camps will operate from July 5 to July 12 at designated locations spread across residential colonies and urban settlements in the constituency. According to the MLA, each camp will be staffed by four trained volunteers who will assist electors in filling out the prescribed enumeration forms, clarify procedural requirements, and provide necessary guidance throughout the exercise.
Purnima Sahu said the initiative has been launched to ensure that every eligible voter receives timely assistance during the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. Separate camp in-charges have been appointed for each mandal to coordinate the activities and ensure seamless execution of the programme.
She informed that all voters whose names appear in the 2024 electoral roll will receive two printed copies of the enumeration form from their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Emphasising the importance of the exercise, she stated that every voter is required to fill and submit the form irrespective of whether mapping has already been completed.
The MLA explained that the forms will already contain pre-filled details such as the voter’s name, polling booth number, address and photograph. She urged citizens to verify every entry carefully and avoid furnishing incorrect information, as inaccuracies could lead to avoidable complications in the future. Voters have also been advised to retain one acknowledged copy of the submitted form for their records.
Sahu further clarified that the process of filling and submitting the forms will continue until July 29. At this stage, no supporting documents are required to be submitted along with the form. However, she appealed to voters to keep two recent coloured passport-size photographs ready for use when the forms are distributed by the BLOs.
Calling upon residents to make full use of the Kamal Sahayog Samiti camps, Purnima Sahu said a clean, accurate and updated electoral roll is essential for strengthening democracy. She expressed confidence that with active public participation and awareness, the revision exercise would be completed successfully and assured that every possible assistance would be extended so that no eligible voter faces any inconvenience during the process.
