New collaboration with Sorbonne, Bordeaux, DCAC, and IIE Consortium to bring world-class, industry-ready programs to Indian students
Jamshedpur/New Delhi, September 11: Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier management institutions (XLRI), announced a landmark Indo-French-Danish knowledge collaboration with some of the world’s most reputed universities and consortia. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, in the presence of senior representatives from XLRI and international collaborators, including the University of Paris-1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, University of Bordeaux, UNESCO Chair at the University of Paris Nanterre, the Danish Consortium for Academic Craftsmanship (DCAC), and the International Institute of Education (IIE) Consortium of Universities.
The collaboration, which has been in the works for nearly two years, aims to strengthen academic ties through joint degree programs, executive education, research, and faculty and student exchanges.
Speaking on the occasion at the event, Fr. Nelson A D’Silva, SJ, Acting Director, XLRI Delhi-NCR Campus, highlighted the significance of the partnership: “This collaboration marks a milestone for XLRI as we join hands with Sorbonne, Bordeaux, DCAC, and the IIE Consortium. It is not merely an academic alliance—it is a bridge that connects our students with world-class global learning experiences. We believe this partnership can become a blueprint for future international collaborations, taking XLRI closer to its vision of becoming a globally recognized, multi-disciplinary university.”
The collaboration will provide Indian students and professionals with globally recognized, industry-relevant, and affordable education. The offerings will include specialized master’s programs in areas such as healthcare management, family business, consulting, digital business, as well as skill-based workshops and entrepreneurial training facilitated by DCAC. Students completing these programs will benefit from ‘Diplôme national’ degrees awarded by Sorbonne and Bordeaux, which are widely recognized across Europe, OECD, and Commonwealth countries, and meet the eligibility requirements for skilled worker visa programs like the EU Blue Card, UK’s Skilled Worker Visa, and Canada’s Express Entry system.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Eric Lamarque, Dean of IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School, commented: “The Sorbonne is delighted to partner with XLRI and its global allies to strengthen Indo-French educational ties. This initiative has the potential to shape the future of management education and practice, while also creating opportunities for meaningful cross-border academic and cultural exchange.”
Adding to this, Dr. Alberto Arubulu, Director of MBA Programs and Assistant Director – International Office of IAE Bordeaux School of Management, said: “At Bordeaux, we strongly believe that management education must transcend borders and prepare students for a globalized, interconnected economy. Our partnership with XLRI and the consortium partners will open unique pathways for Indian students to access Europe’s finest academic and professional opportunities, while also enriching our own classrooms with diverse perspectives from India.”
Adding to the momentum, Prof. Michael Christensen, Head of International Relations at IBC International Business College (DCAC), said: “Our collaboration with XLRI will allow us to co-create hands-on, skills-based programs that uniquely address the needs of Indian management professionals and industry. This alliance demonstrates the true power of international partnerships in shaping future-ready leaders.”
The alliance partners emphasized that this collaboration would not only deepen Indo-French relations in education but also foster a highly effective ecosystem of global learning for Indian students and professionals. With the first set of programs expected to launch in 2025–26, the institutions plan to expand further into new specialization areas in the coming years, making quality global education accessible to Indian learners and enabling them to become impactful leaders in a rapidly evolving world.
