Jamshedpur: Marking the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, members of Hind Ekta Sanstha organized a special service initiative at Aashirwad Old Age Home in Baradari. The programme was aimed at spreading the message of compassion, humanity, and selfless service propagated by Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
Led by organization president Simran Bhatia, volunteers distributed fruits and other essential items among the elderly residents of the home. The team also spent time interacting with the senior citizens, enquiring about their well-being and sharing moments of warmth and companionship.
Tribute through service
Speaking on the occasion, Simran Bhatia said that Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s life continues to inspire people to serve humanity with humility and dedication. He stated that serving elderly citizens and bringing joy to their lives is one of the most meaningful ways to pay tribute to the Guru’s teachings on his martyrdom day.
He emphasized that acts of kindness and community service help strengthen social harmony and encourage younger generations to embrace the values of compassion and respect.
Elderly residents bless volunteers
The initiative was appreciated by the management of Aashirwad Old Age Home as well as the elderly residents, who expressed gratitude for the gesture. The residents blessed the volunteers and wished them success in their future social service endeavors.
The interaction created a cheerful atmosphere at the home, with many residents sharing their experiences and expressing happiness over the visit.

Several social and community leaders joined the service activity. Among those present were Sitaramdera Police Station In-charge Anand Mishra, Sikh BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu, social worker Chanchal Bhatia, Navneet Singh, Arab Sagar, and social worker Sawan Mukhi.
