XITE College at Gamharia top destination for higher education

Gamharia, July 19: XITE College, Gamharia, is one of the top destinations of the state offering quality higher education. It is not only a popular educational institution but also one among the most reputed institutions of the state. It was founded way back in 2003 by Jesuits.

The main purpose behind starting the institute is to instill mental, social, physical and other skills among the youths of the state. It is the aim of the faculties here to inspire nationalism and responsibility among the youths of Jharkhand and its neighbouring states.

At present, there are 80 known Jesuit academic institutions across India that are being directly run by the Father. These institutions mainly include St Xavier College, Mumbai, St. Joseph College, Bengaluru and Loyola College, Chennai. The institute is spread across an area of 34.5 acres of land. There are various facilities for students including an organized canteen, hostel for boys and girls and a grand sports ground for organizing cultural programmes, sources said.

The institute boasts of a huge library with a large number of books on various subjects and offers four courses under the same roof. The courses are Bachelor of Arts (Economics and English Honours), Bachelor of Commerce (Account Honours), Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Administration, Mathematics and Statistics). The students here also get training for CAT, XAT, NET, Banking, Railways, etc.

“The college has become a confluence of various academic activities. Besides academic activities, cultural events are also organized here to ensure inclusive development of students. Our students play an important role in the development of the college along with the teachers. The institute is run by a group of talented and experienced teachers. There is a strong bonding between students and teachers here. Our teachers resolve students’ issues without delay,” said Father Mukti, Vice Principal of the institute, addressing a press conference.

Sources said the College is recognized by UGC and accredited by NET.

Two college students had won gold medals in the university exams last year and had also performed well in the field of sports. According to college officials, the college helps the students get cent per cent placement. After studying at the college here, the students go on to secure admissions in other higher education institutions, sources said.

Others present at the press conference included Professor Nishit Singh, Professor Partha Priya Das, Navan Narayan Chaudhari and Dr Father EA Francis.
