Jamshedpur: MLA Saryu Roy launched a scathing critique of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) on Saturday, describing his experience with the civic body as “bitter.”
Addressing a gathering at Tarun Sangh in Kadma, Roy highlighted systemic inefficiencies within JNAC that hinder local development.
Infrastructure Push: 50 New Schemes
Despite his grievances, Roy joined Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato to lay the foundation stones for 50 development projects totaling more than ₹6.88 crore. These urban development schemes will improve infrastructure across:
-
Sonari
-
Kadma
-
Bistupur
-
Sakchi
Targeting Procedural Red Tape
Roy specifically called out JNAC for long-standing delays in project execution. He noted that even after selecting contractors and floating tenders, work frequently stalls because security agreements remain pending for months.
“Development works must not be allowed to be dominated by contractors at the cost of public interest,” Roy stated, urging the civic body to streamline formalities and ensure high-quality standards.
The MLA warned contractors to stick to strict timelines, emphasizing that the community should not suffer due to administrative or contractual negligence.
