Jamshedpur: Sakchi to be developed like Bistupur, four new parking lots coming up

Jamshedpur, July 19: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) is gearing up to give a facelift to Straight Mile Road and the various markets adjoining it very soon.

JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar visited Sakchi on Tuesday along with Captain Dhananjay Mishra of Tata Steel UISL and other officials to take stock of the ongoing construction of pavement and divider. He said the Straight Mile Road would get a new look with installation of street lights in the middle. The pavements are being secured with grills. Very soon, the walls of Sanjay Shalini Market would be covered with wall paintings to give it an artistic look, he said.

“Sakchi would be developed on the lines of Bistupur. The roads here would be widened further. The vendors selling leaves and flowers in the Patta Market have been asked to shift to Baradwari Ground. The Kadma Auto Stand would also be renovated,” said the Special Officer.

Kumar said very soon Sakchi would get four new parking spaces. He said vacant places for parking facility have been earmarked and the work would soon start to build the parking areas.

The Special Officer asked the manager of Sakchi-Kadma auto stand to ensure that the passengers take the ride only at the auto stand and not randomly. Action would be taken against errant auto drivers, he said.

Sakchi PS OC Rajesh Kumar, JNAC City Manager Ravi Bharati and Nirmal Kumar were also present during the inspection.
