Jamshedpur, Nov 8: A week long Srimad Bhagwath Katha event got underway today at Pritam Memorial Maidan near DAV School on Slag Road in Bhuinyadih Patel Nagar.

The event commenced with 151 women in a procession carrying water from the Swarnrekha River to the site of the Katha and pouring it in a Kalash whose ritualistic foundation signified the opening of the week long Srimad Bhagwath Katha. The narrator of the Katha is Acharya Hariji Maharaj from Vrindavan. Today he spoke on the celestial aura surrounding the story of the divinity of love.

The Acharya observed, This is not Kali Yug but this is Katha Yug. In Kali Yug, life span is short and that is why, listening to Bhagwath Katha and seeping in the honey of souls delight will provide you with Moksha which is the ultimate expectation in life. Bhagwath Katha is of prime interest in society. It is ever necessary to perform worship of Divinity but the greatest worship is loving and respecting your parents. Never ever neglect them.

The devotees present were lost in the holistic atmosphere created by Acharya Hariji Maharaj. Todays hosts for the Katha included Govind Saroj, Nand Singh, Shriram Saroj, Dilip Singh, Hari Om Saroj, Dr SK Tiwary, Mahesh Kumar, Shanti Tiwary, Savita Sinha, Hansa Saroj, Shyam Khandelwal, Asim Das and Sanjay Singh.
