Khalsa Premier League begins at Co-operative College Ground
Jamshedpur, April 17: The Khalsa Premier League (KPL) began on a high note at the Co-operative College Ground in Sakchi, with exciting matches and strong performances. Kings XI Punjab (Sakchi) and Tinplate Super Kings secured their places in the semifinals after winning their respective matches.
In the first match, Tinplate Super Kings defeated Jemco XI by 6 wickets. Batting first, Jemco XI scored 75 runs in 8 overs, with Prince (18) and Jagraj (15) contributing key runs. In reply, Tinplate chased the target comfortably, scoring 78 runs in 6.3 overs. Raj (23) and Manjit (21) led the batting, while Param delivered an all-round performance, taking 2 wickets and contributing with the bat. He was named ‘Man of the Match’.

In the second match, Kings XI Punjab (Sakchi) defeated Gursikh Cricket Association by 7 wickets. Gursikh posted 92 runs in 8 overs, with Akash (24) and Malkit (18) as top scorers. Kings XI Punjab chased the target successfully, scoring 95 runs in 7.2 overs. Dhruvpal’s impressive 40 runs earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ award, while Keerat added 25 runs.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Sardar Nishan Singh, President of the Gurudwara Management Committee, Sakchi. He said the event promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and unity among youth.
Technical Director Baljeet Sansoa informed that the final will be held on Sunday. Cricketer Saurabh Tiwary will attend as the chief guest.
