Chaibasa, Sept 11: West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal and Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Shekhar jointly convened a virtual meeting to plan strategy for keeping the law and order situation in the district intact during Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Deepwali and Chhath.
At the meeting, the DC directed all district officials concerned to visit local puja pandals for physical inspection. The officials would keep an eye on anti-social elements in their respective areas and if needed, would take stringent preventive action against them, he said.

The DC said control rooms would be set up at sub-divisional and district level after deputation of police personnel and officials. He directed the executive officer of Chaibasa Nagar Parishad to ensure repair of roads leading to various puja pandals and uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity.
Also addressing the officials, the SP said all officers in-charge of police stations and block development officers should convene peace committee meetings in their respective areas. Action would be taken against those dealing in illicit liquor and other harmful or illegal substances, he said.
