Mukund Rungta re-elected President, Aseem Singh retains General Secretary post

Chaibasa, Sep 23: The West Singhbhum District Cricket Association held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday, April 22, at the S.R. Rungta Pavilion, Birsa Munda Cricket Stadium. During the meeting, a new management committee was elected unanimously for the 2024-27 term. Mukund Rungta was re-elected as president, continuing his leadership, while Asim Kumar Singh was appointed as the general secretary once again. The rest of the committee includes Banwari Lal Nevatia, Dr. Vijay Kumar Mundhra, and Sushil Kumar Singhania as vice presidents, with Supriyo Faujdar serving as treasurer. Anoop Barman, Om Prakash Gupta, and Faiz Ahmed were named joint secretaries, while Jitendra Choubey, Raj Kumar Mundhra, Rajiv Vishwakarma, Mohd. Alam Ansari, and Jaiprakash were selected as executive committee members.
At the AGM, General Secretary Asim Kumar Singh presented the 115-page Annual Report for the 2023-24 session, which was approved unanimously by the members. Treasurer Supriyo Faujdar also presented the audited financial report for the year, which passed by voice vote, alongside the proposed budget for 2024-25. The members approved the cricket calendar for the upcoming season, which will commence on October 16, 2024, with the SR Rungta B-Division League and conclude on June 8, 2025, with the Summer Cricket Camp.
A notable decision from the meeting was the introduction of a new competition for under-16 players, a proposal passed by the Management Committee on September 9 and approved by the General Assembly. This competition is estimated to cost around Rs. 60,000 annually, and the expense will be sponsored by Vice President Sushil Kumar Singhania, to whom the House expressed its gratitude for his support. Another significant decision was the approval of lifetime memberships for umpires and scorers who have served for five years, provided they pay the required fee as outlined in the association’s constitution.
A total of 40 members, representing various clubs, schools, institutions, and lifetime members, attended the AGM, marking a successful and collaborative event for the District Cricket Association.
Four district players honored for BCCI achievements
Chaibasa, Sep 23: At the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting of the West Singhbhum District Cricket Association, four district players were recognized for their exceptional performances in last season’s BCCI competitions. Satyam Singh and Saket Kumar Singh were honoured in the Under-16 age group, while Anukul Rai received recognition in the senior male category, and Rashmi Gudiya in the senior female category.

The players were presented with tokens of appreciation by District Cricket Association President Mukund Rungta, along with Vice Presidents Banwari Lal Neotia and Sushil Kumar Singhania, and Treasurer Supriyo Faujdar.
