Non-Veg Delivered Instead of Veg: Food License of Jamshedpur’s Restaurant Cancelled

Jamshedpur: Following complaints of non-vegetarian biryani being delivered to customers who ordered vegetarian food, the Health Department has taken strict action, cancelling the food license of Kolkata Alishan Biryani Restaurant, located on Sakchi Tank Road. The department confirmed that an official investigation found the consumers’ complaints to be true.

According to Health Department officials, several consumers had lodged complaints over the past few days. They alleged that despite ordering vegetarian biryani through online platforms, the restaurant delivered non-vegetarian biryani.

Food Inspector Pins Down Negligence

Taking the complaints seriously, authorities assigned Food Inspector Sanjay Kumar to investigate the matter. The probe verified multiple claims and found the restaurant guilty of the mix-up, leading to the immediate cancellation of its food license.

“It is the responsibility of every restaurant to provide food items exactly as ordered by the consumer,” the Food Inspector stated. “Any neglect that hurts religious sentiments, disregards dietary preferences, or violates consumer rights constitutes gross negligence. We will take strict action in all such cases.”

New Case Surfaces in Kadma

Meanwhile, a similar incident came to light in the Kadma area on Friday. A local youth alleged that his online order for vegetarian biryani arrived as a non-vegetarian dish.

When he contacted both the hotel and the delivery company to complain, both refused to take responsibility. The youth stated that he will file a formal written complaint with the Health Department and the district administration on Saturday.

Department Urges Public to Report Violations

The Health Department has urged citizens to immediately report any instances of incorrect food delivery, poor food quality, or safety violations. The department will continue to monitor food establishments regularly and penalize violators heavily.
