Massive Human Chain in Jamshedpur Marks Conclusion of East Singhbhum Anti-Drug Drive

Jamshedpur: A massive human chain stretching from the East Singhbhum Collectorate to Sakchi Roundabout marked the culmination of a two-week anti-drug campaign on Saturday.

The East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner flagged off the event, leading senior officials, students, voluntary organizations, and citizens in a unified stand against substance abuse. The demonstration concluded Jharkhand’s state-wide anti-drug drive, which ran from June 10 to June 26.

Participants marched with placards and banners promoting an addiction-free society. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner administered an anti-drug oath, urging the youth to channel their energy into education and sports. He emphasized that law enforcement alone cannot eliminate drug abuse; it requires active collective effort from all sections of society.

To reinforce their commitment, top district officials, students, and the public also participated in a signature campaign, signing a pledge to build a drug-free community.

The event capped off a fortnight of rallies, street plays, and seminars across schools, colleges, and panchayats in East Singhbhum. Officials assured that these public awareness initiatives will continue to safeguard the community from the menace of addiction.
