Water logging on Jugsalai rail crossing road

Jamshedpur, August 9: Due to the continuing rain since the last two days, the road at Jugsalai railway crossing gate has again become water logged. Due to this, thousands of people passing through there every day are suffering. Women are getting trapped in the water and falling and getting into accidents. On the complaint of the people, BJP District General Secretary Anil Modi along with Mandal President Hemendra Jain and other workers reached there and inspected. They said that water logging at the rail level crossing gate was a perennial problem.

Locals said that earlier, there used to be a drain that ensured water flowing out with causing water logging. They said that during removal of encroachment for the construction of over bridge, that drain was broken and since then flushing out of rain water had become an acute problem. They felt that only construction of a drain would be a viable solution.
Anil Modi said that on an earlier occasion after he had pointed out the matter to the authorities concerned, arrangements were made for drainage of water by the district administration but it was an immediate solution but not a permanent one. “This area becomes like a pond when there is little rain. A permanent solution has not been found. The local citizens and BJP workers will be forced to agitate if the problem is not resolved soon.”
