Jamshedpur: In a strong and decisive move against illegal construction, the Adityapur Municipal Corporation has sealed a multi-storey building under construction on Adityapur Thana Road, declaring the structure completely unauthorized. The swift action highlights the administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward violations of urban planning norms.
The action was initiated following confidential intelligence inputs indicating that construction was underway at a prime location without approved building plans or mandatory permissions. Acting promptly, a special team conducted a surprise inspection at the site.
During the inspection, the building owner failed to produce any valid documents, including approved plans and No-Objection Certificates (NOCs). In the absence of legal authorization, officials immediately sealed the premises, bringing all construction work to a halt.
Zero tolerance for violations
The enforcement drive was led by Magistrate Dr. Anand Kumar Anandmay and Assistant Town Planner Dr. Meet Fathewar. Officials made it clear that there is no room for violations of the Adityapur Master Plan and the Jharkhand Building Bye-laws.
The Corporation’s monitoring team, including City Managers Saurabh Verma, Robin Kachhap, and Debashish Pradhan, was present during the operation. A heavy deployment of Adityapur Police ensured smooth execution and prevented any untoward incidents.
Demolition warning issued
Authorities have issued a show-cause notice to the building owner, directing them to respond within a stipulated timeframe. Officials warned that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation will result in demolition of the illegal portions of the structure.
Reaffirming its commitment to planned urban development, the Municipal Corporation emphasized that strict adherence to building regulations is essential. It also stated that illegal constructions are now being identified through digital surveillance systems.
This firm action sends a clear message across the city: unauthorized construction will invite strict legal consequences.
