Watching movies, reading books can help tackle depression

Jamshedpur, August 11: Suicide cases have abnormally shot up in Jamshedpur during the last 4 months. Depression, isolations, job losses and quarantines have been exerting unprecedented stress on the people, said press communique issued by Dr J. R. Jain, Director, Jeevan Suicide Prevention Centre.

Although, people of Jamshedpur are far better aware and trained to cope with stresses, due to regular and frequent programs conducted throughout the year by several organizations, including “Jeevan”, for the last several years, but the present persistent pressure is going beyond their tolerance levels.

It is found that they should know, whom to contact at the time of extreme Hopelessness / Depression and at other times of stress, how to use self de-stressing techniques to get important and regular relief.

By looking at the sun set, watching movies, being positive, singing sing, eating snacks, planting flower saplings, listening to songs, dancing, having tea, laughing, lighting candles, reading favorite books etc can help both types of people – people under stress as well those under depression can get the much needed support to fall upon.
