Jamshedpur, March 18: On the eve of the Hindu New Year, a grand city procession was taken out from Mango–Dimna Road to Sakchi Subhash Maidan, filling the steel city with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and devotional songs.

The 10-Km-long procession witnessed massive participation, with organizers claiming a turnout of nearly five lakh devotees.

The rally began around 4 pm from Dimna MGM Ground and took nearly five hours to reach Subhash Maidan. The procession featured vibrant tableaux depicting Lord Ram, mother Sita, and Lord Hanuman, along with saffron flags carried by participants, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere across the city.

A key highlight of the event was the presence of Vinayak Rao Tope, a descendant of legendary freedom fighter Tatya Tope, who came from Bithoor, Kanpur. Addressing the gathering, he described the rally as a “Milestone for future generations” and urged people to remain connected to India’s rich cultural and historical roots.

The event was led by founder Mrityunjay Kumar and supported by patron Ram Babu Tiwari, who welcomed guests by presenting saffron attire.
Organizers emphasized unity, cultural pride, and the importance of preserving Sanatan traditions among the youth.

The rally also marked the significance of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, considered the first day of creation in Hindu belief, the beginning of Vikram Samvat 2082, and the start of Navratri.
Several dignitaries, including former minister Banna Gupta, attended the event and praised the organizers for promoting cultural awareness among the younger generation.
Other speakers highlighted the historical and spiritual importance of the occasion, invoking figures like Maharana Pratap, Birsa Munda, and Dr. Hedgewar.

The procession also included tribute ceremonies at key locations, where floral offerings were made to Shaheed Khudiram Bose, Tilka Manjhi, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Adding to the fervour, 21 DJs played devotional tracks such as “Shri Ram Ji Ki Sena Chali” and “Shri Ram Ji Ki Nikli Sawari,” with participants dancing along the route. The city reverberated with slogans and music, transforming Jamshedpur into a spiritually charged space.

The rally concluded at Subhash Maidan with a grand aarti of a 21-foot image of Bharat Mata. Organizers thanked the administration for smooth coordination and extended New Year greetings to all, urging people to hoist saffron flags at their homes and celebrate the occasion with unity and devotion.
