Jamshedpur, March 17: The Andhra Association, Kadma, one of the city’s most prestigious social and cultural organizations, is celebrating its Centenary Year (1926–2026) to mark a century of contributions to education, culture, and social service. To commemorate this historic milestone, the association has planned a series of cultural, traditional, and social events showcasing its rich heritage and legacy.
The celebrations will commence on March 19, 2026 (Thursday), with the traditional Ugadi Panchanga Sravanam at the Andhra Association premises in Kadma. This auspicious Telugu New Year ceremony will feature the recitation of the Panchanga (almanac) to mark the beginning of the new year. M Bhaskar Rao, Trustee of the association, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, and members of the Telugu community are expected to participate in large numbers.
On March 22, 2026 (Sunday), a grand musical evening titled Cine Sangeet Vibhavari will be held at the Rajendra Vidyalaya Auditorium, Sakchi, from 6:00 PM. Renowned artiste B Ramana Murthy and his team from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, will perform, with D B Sundara Raman, Vice President (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel Limited, attending as Chief Guest. The evening promises to enthrall audiences with classical and cinematic music performances.
As part of the centenary celebrations, a special Centenary Commemorative Souvenir will be released on March 29, 2026, at the association’s Kadma premises. Saryu Roy, MLA of Jamshedpur West, will be the Chief Guest for this event. The souvenir will chronicle the organization’s 100-year journey, highlighting its achievements and contributions to society.
Over the past century, the Andhra Association has played a pivotal role in preserving Telugu culture, promoting educational initiatives, and fostering community welfare in Jamshedpur. General Secretary Y K Sharma, along with Vice Presidents V Srinivas and B Bapuji, Treasurer C Ganesh Rao, Assistant Treasurer R Ravi, Joint Secretaries T Anji Rao, G Sanyasi Rao, B Srinivas Rao, and committee members, are actively coordinating the centenary preparations.
The association has invited media representatives and the public to join the celebrations and witness the historic milestone marking 100 years of cultural and social excellence.
