Mail News Service

Jamshedpur: A shocking incident occurred on Wednesday at Dimna Middle School, located in Mango, Jamshedpur, where a Class VIII student, Raunak Munda, son of Sangeeta Munda and resident of Mirzadih, was brutally assaulted by his classmates Radheshyam Patro, Somnath Mardi, and Manik Kumar inside the school premises.

According to reports, the attackers beat Raunak mercilessly using a belt, bangle (kada), and sticks, leaving him seriously injured.

Despite the assault taking place in front of the acting Principal Rita Devi and three to four teachers, none of them reportedly informed the police or the victim’s family.

Local residents intervened promptly and rushed the injured student to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital, where he was placed on oxygen support and later sent for a CT scan.

Raunak’s mother, Sangeeta Munda, stated that her son suffered severe injuries to the back of his head caused by the belt buckle and the metal bangle used during the attack.

On receiving information from locals, the family lodged a complaint with the police.

Condemning the incident, Hemant Pathak, State Executive Member of Yuva JDU, termed the episode “deeply shameful,” questioning the moral responsibility of the teachers who remained silent spectators.

He criticized the school administration for failing to act and said that Yuva JDU representatives would visit the school on Thursday to demand strict action against the accused students and negligent staff members.

Those present with Pathak included Pintu Singh (MLA representative), Santosh Bhagat (MLA representative), Tuntun Singh, Rahul Pathak, Jai Prakash Shah, Manoj Gorai, and Pawan Shah.
