Vibrant ‘Sawananza 6.0’ celebration at DBMS College of Education Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: DBMS College of Education’s Cultural Club successfully organized its annual ‘Sawananza’ event, now in its sixth iteration, celebrating the Sawan season with great enthusiasm. The event saw participation from ten colleges across the city, featuring various competitions and cultural performances.

The program was inaugurated by DBMS College Patron Bhanumathi Neelkanthan, Secretary Sripriya Dharmarajan, and Vice Principal Dr. Monica Uppal. Amrita Chaudhary and her students presented a Kajari song, setting the tone for the festivities.

Competitions included Pushpa Shringar (floral decoration), Chhatrakala (student art), dance, and the selection of a Sawan Queen. Judges for the events were Anita Sahu, Purushottam Kumar, Rishita Roy, and Uma Shastri.

In the Pushpa Shringar competition, Vinita Kumari Hansda from DBMS College of Education secured the first prize. The Chhatrakala event saw Priya Boipai and Laxmikant Sharma from DBMS College of Education claiming top honors. Neha Nishad from DBMS College of Education was crowned Sawan Queen. The dance competition was won by the team from Karim City College.

Participating institutions included Rambha College, Swami Vivekanand College of Education, M.B.N.S Institute of Education, Karim City College, Ashu Kisku Memorial and Rabi Kisku Teacher Training, Jamini Kant B.Ed College, and Srinath College of Education.

The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for all participants, with awards presented by Sripriya Dharmarajan and Bhanumathi Neelkantan. Program coordinator Amrita Chaudhary was credited for training the students, while Dr. Monica Uppal delivered the welcome speech. The program was conducted by Nistala Shailaja and Shambhavi Pukar, with Neha Rani giving the vote of thanks.
