VG Gopal Scholarship Applications Open for Tata Steel Employees’ Children

Jamshedpur, June 13: The VG Gopal Memorial Trust has invited applications for the VG Gopal Scholarship, offering financial assistance to deserving students pursuing higher education. A total of 20 students will be selected for the scholarship this year.

Under the scheme, students studying Engineering and Medical courses will receive Rs 12,000 annually. Those pursuing postgraduate professional courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Computer Science, Business Management, Personnel Management, Hotel Management and Accountancy, as well as diploma students in any discipline, will receive Rs 9,000 per year. Students who have passed Class 12 and lost a parent will be eligible for an annual scholarship of Rs 7,200.

Students admitted to eligible courses between January 1 and December 31, 2025, can apply. Five scholarships have been reserved exclusively for female students. To qualify, the monthly income of the student’s parents should not exceed Rs 78,310. Self-employed applicants must submit a valid income certificate to the Secretary of the VG Gopal Scholarship Committee.

The scholarship scheme will also benefit students securing positions among the top five ranks at the RD Tata Technical Institute.

Application forms for children of Tata Steel employees will be available from June 13 to July 16. The completed forms must be submitted by July 30. Applicants can collect and submit forms at the office of the Senior Manager (Employment Bureau) in the Tata Steel General Office Building between 9.30 am and 1 pm, and from 2 pm to 5.30 pm. Forms can also be downloaded online.
