Jamshedpur: Members of Antar-rashtriya Kshatriya Veerangana Foundation wore black dupatta on Thursday to protest the killing of one Suchita Chouhan in Sardhana (Meerut). They put up a demonstration at Bistupur roundabout. They were led by Bharati Singh.
Bharati said the minor girl was burnt to death by the culprits for protesting eve-teasing. She said the country was going backwards as girls and women were not safe.
Another outfit member Renu Singh said while on one hand the government was making long claims regarding the success of its ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, on the other hand anti-social elements were committing gruesome crimes with impunity.
Others present during the agitation included Prabha Singh, Sushma Singh, Kamlesh Singh, Nutan Singh, Vibha Singh, Deepa Singh, Rajni Singh, Sanju Singh, Ridhi Singh, Nibha Singh, Neelam Singh, Swati Singh and Anjali Singh.
