Ranchi, Sept 24: The Jharkhand government has launched the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme to promote research and academic excellence in the state’s higher education institutions. Under this scheme, talented students from Jharkhand will be awarded scholarships to study at foreign universities. This will provide them with the opportunity to study at a foreign higher education institution ranked in the top 200 in the QS World Rankings.
The US H1B visa could be a barrier to this ambitious plan of the state government. Under this scheme, the visa will cost $100,000, or Rs 8,873,270. The Jharkhand government has approved full tuition fees and a living allowance of ?600,000 per year for the entire academic year. An annual budget of Rs 500 million has been allocated for this.
The QS rankings include the largest number of American educational institutions, with 192 universities. The UK is second with 90 universities and Mainland China with 72. India also includes 54 universities.
The QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World Rankings is a renowned and prestigious ranking that evaluates and compares universities worldwide. This ranking is published by a London-based education consultancy and is an important benchmark in the field of education and career.
This year’s ranking ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as the best university in the world. This ranking is an important indicator of the quality of universities and the excellence of their educational programs.
